Mike Paskin studied Art & Design and Graphics before entering University to become a Chartered Architect gaining a BSc Honours Degree. His love of horses, hunting and painting never left him and throughout his career he has continued these interests.
For the last 16 years he has concentrated on Equine subjects and is now a full time professional artist.
Mike has a studio at his farm near Bridgnorth in Shropshire and attends many local and national horse shows where he displays his work and paints in public. He specialises in Equine and Canine portraits, racing, polo and particularly hunting scenes (Mike is currently in his 18th hunting season).
Mike likes to meet his subjects before painting them and will take photographs at shows or will travel to farm or stable. He captures each animals character and aims to deliver a true likeness. He also works from clients own photographs (if good quality) which can be posted or emailed to his studio.
Mike works in the mediums pastel, watercolour and oils, depending on the clients wishes.
Each original painting is is distinguished by a level of accuracy and likeness that must be viewed to be appreciated. Prices are kept at a reasonable level which allows clients to have a series of animals painted and achieves a steady flow of repeat commissions from people who collect his paintings.
To commission a painting, telephone , email or speak to Mike at a show and give him your details. He will arrange a visit at your convenience to discuss the painting or simply send your photographs in the post. On completion Mike will call and ask you to collect the painting from his studio or he will send the finished painting by parcel post after you have viewed a photograph of the work. No-one is expected to purchase the finished painting unless they are delighted and completely happy with the result.
